Prince of Wales Hospital is seeking an experienced Neurosurgeon to join the department temporarily. Currently, there is a 3-month VMO vacancy with 62 hours available over this period, with potential for extension.

The specialist will deliver expert assessment and management of patients within the department.
The primary location may vary as agreed with the Director of Medical Services and approved by MDAAC, including other SESLHD facilities.

* Employment of a temporary visa holder is contingent upon no suitable Australian permanent resident or citizen being identified after labour market testing.
* This is a Category A position. Applicants must read NSW Health Policy PD2024_015. Successful candidates must provide vaccination history and pathology results and be certified compliant before employment.

Applicants must demonstrate their ability to meet the selection criteria.
* Registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA), with AHPRA Registration Number provided on application.
* Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) or equivalent, with subspecialty training in Neurosurgery. An interest in cerebrovascular pathology is highly desirable.
* Evidence of ongoing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices.
* Proven experience providing high-quality clinical service, including participation in quality improvement activities.
* Commitment to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students and hospital staff.
* Professional behavior, effective communication, and teamwork skills.
* Experience and commitment to research relevant to the department's needs.
