Graduate Registered Nurse Program February Perioperative, Acute Ward Speciality Areas and Emergency

Location: St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside

12 months (52 weeks) maximum term part time contract; February 2026 commencement

About the position:

Join the St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside 2026 Graduate Registered Nurse Program in February 2026, with the exciting opportunity to work in an acute hospital environment. We offer the following acute-care specialties:

Perioperative Services: Theatre, Recovery, Endoscopy and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory

Acute Ward-based Specialties & Emergency Nursing: Urology, Orthopaedics, Neurology, Oncology/Haematology, Palliative Care, General Medical & Surgical, Gastrointestinal, Colorectal & Bariatric Surgical, Medical Cardiology, Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgical, Emergency Nursing (usually offered as 12 months with no rotation)

Our Graduate Registered Nurse Program commences February 2026 with completion in February 2027 offering a 52 week, fixed term, 0.84 FTE position.

Additionally, our Northside site offers a transition programs into: Critical Care (ICU) Nursing, available for consideration after your graduate year, supporting your continued growth and career progression.

What works for us:

- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse prior to program commencement
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Well-developed skills in delivering compassionate, patient-centred care
- Recent clinical placement experience in an acute hospital setting
- If applying for an Emergency Nursing stream, recent clinical experience in an Emergency Department is preferred
- Flexibility to work rostered shifts across a 7-day week, including early, late and night shifts (nights on wards only)

Remuneration:

The position of Graduate Registered Nurse, in addition to our competitive salary packaging options, is a Registered Nurse Level 1, Year 1, with a base remuneration of $43.59 hourly + superannuation + shift penalties + allowances.
