Position Overview:
Responsible for managing the end-to-end logistics and procurement of wool obtained by Spearwood Wool's country agents based in regional Western Australia, the role will be overseeing supply chain operations to ensure an efficient and timely transport of country bought wool to the head office for timely market access.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and coordinate the storage, distribution, and transportation of greasy wool in regional depots for transport to the main store
• Develop further relationships with logistics companies in regional areas for transport of various quantities of wool
• Experience specifically in agricultural logistics is essential
• Manage relationships with wool growers, country agents
• Assess and evaluate wool quality and pricing
• Negotiate logistic agreements
• Oversee purchased greasy inventory and stock control systems
• Manage logistics budget and optimise operational costs
• Implement and maintain supply chain management technologies and systems
Performance Indicators:
• Optimise supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness
• Achieve targeted volume of wool purchases and deliveries
• Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the wool industry
