We're on the lookout for a local, trade-qualified Communications Technician to join our Rockhampton team. If you're hands-on, safety-focused, and experienced with RF and Wi‑Fi systems, this is your opportunity to step into a high‑impact role supporting some of Australia's largest mining operations.
This full‑time role is based out on site, where you'll be working a 7 on, 7 off rotating roster. You'll work directly with our product suite and integrated third‑party technologies, delivering installation, maintenance, and repair services to our valued clients.
What You'll Be Doing
* Install and maintain RF (radio frequency) and Wi‑Fi network systems
* Terminate coaxial cable and test/splice fibre optic cable
* Diagnose and fault‑find a wide range of comms systems
* Perform bench repairs on electronic equipment
* Uphold and promote site safety standards on all projects
Desired Skills and Experience
What We're Looking For
* Certificate III in Electronics and Communications (or equivalent)
* 2–3 years' experience in a similar field‑based technician role
* Practical experience working on mine sites – surface or underground (preferred)
* Knowledge of RF systems, fibre, and mining communication tech
* Strong focus on quality work and customer satisfaction
* Valid National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Be able to pass a Coal Board Medical
* Cabling certifications – structured, coaxial, fibre
You must be based in the Rockhampton region (or willing to relocate) and hold full Australian working rights.
