Due to the nature of clients we work with here at Kinexus and the projects these roles will be based on, an Australian Government Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) clearance is essential.
These opportunities do not have the ability to obtain sponsorship for a security clearance (including applicants who currently hold a security clearance seeking to upgrade).
ABOUT THIS ROLE
System Administrators perform and achieve systems administration work within an integrated workforce.
They will provide detailed systems administration, technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning and implementation.

Candidates must be willing to undergo ASD's Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement.

Areas of growth include PMO, cyber security, systems administration and engineering, software development and network engineering.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountable to perform routine installations and de-installations of items of hardware and software in accordance with organization policy and procedures.
Provide advice and specialist guidance to ensure best use is made of available assets and to maintain or improve the installation service.
Evaluate, provision and test new system software, including cloud based solutions
Develop and maintain diagnostic tools and/or procedures for system troubleshooting and performance analysis.
Managing virtual, cloud and hybrid environments
Automating tasks through scripting, coding and orchestration tools
Conduct other systems administration related tasks within the scope of the stated APS level, as required by the business area.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Holds a degree in Computer Science or related field
Proficient in operating systems, networking, database management and security protocols
Proficient in technology applications such as Ansible, Linux, Splunk
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
System Installation & removal (HSIN) level 4 Undertakes or supervises complex installations and de-installations of systems or components, including handover to the client.
Develops procedures and standards for installation and handover to maintain and improve the installation service.
Schedules installation work.
System Software Administration (SYSP) level 4 Monitors systems software metrics and adjusts configurations for optimum availability and performance.
Applies technical expertise to investigate and resolve complex system software issues, requesting action from supplier if required.
Analyses system software updates and determines which ones require action.
Develops comprehensive software implementation protocols with robust contingency plans.
Infrastructure Operations (ITOP) level 4 Applies technical expertise to maintain and optimise technology infrastructure, executing updates and employing automation tools.
Configures tools and/or creates scripts to automate infrastructure tasks.
Maintains operational procedures and checks that they are followed, including adherence to security policies.
Uses infrastructure management tools to monitor load, performance and security metrics.
Systems Design (DESN) level 4 Designs system components using appropriate modelling techniques following agreed architectures, design standards, patterns and methodologies.
Identifies and evaluates alternative design options and trade-offs.
Creates multiple design views to address the concerns of the different stakeholders and to handle functional and non-functional requirements.
Models, simulates or prototypes the behaviour of proposed system components to enable approval by stakeholders.
Produces detailed design specifications to form the basis for the construction of systems.
Reviews, verifies and improves own designs against specifications.
Australian Citizenship and a TSPV or NV2 security clearance is essential
