About the Role
Renmark Paringa Council is seeking a motivated and reliable Team Member – Open Space to join our Infrastructure and Environmental Services team.
In this hands-on role, you will contribute to the maintenance and improvement of Council's open space assets, ensuring our parks, gardens, streetscapes, and sporting facilities remain safe, attractive, and sustainable.
You will work as part of a supportive team to operate, maintain, and improve Council's irrigation and water delivery systems, while contributing to the presentation and sustainability of our open spaces.
Key responsibilities include:
* Turf, tree, and garden maintenance, including irrigation and mulching.
* Assisting with weed control programs and horticultural care.
* Inspecting and maintaining playgrounds, boat ramps, lookouts, and jetties.
* Preparing and setting up for community events.
* Operating plant and machinery safely and effectively.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience in turf, tree, and horticultural maintenance and practical knowledge of plant and machinery operation (e.g., mowers, chainsaws, weed control units).
* Demonstrates strong teamwork, communication skills, and a commitment to safety.
* Is reliable, approaches work with a positive can-do mindset, actively seeks solutions and contributes to team outcomes.
* Holds or is willing to obtain essential certifications (Chem Cert, White Card, Traffic Management, Chainsaw Operator).
