Our diverse community is committed to excellence in teaching and learning, and we strive to support every student on their educational journey. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Learning Support Teacher to join our dedicated Junior School team, commencing in Semester 2 on a Full-time basis.
Responsibilities Include

* Develop, implement, and deliver engaging learning and teaching programs that cater to the diverse needs and characteristics of our students.
* Provide direct support to students with additional learning and support needs.
* Build relationships and partnerships with students, parents/carers, fellow staff and the wider community through the use of well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
* Engage in formal and informal monitoring of students to identify specific learning needs and functional impacts of disabilities.
* Work in conjunction with the Head of Learning Support to deliver programs to support students and advise classroom teachers of recommended practice.
* Design and amend Support Plans for identified students in collaboration with the student, parents, teachers and Head of Learning Support.
* Assist in the collation and moderation of NCCD data and evidence.
* Assist teachers to adjust and/or modify units of work, lessons and assessment items to meet the specific learning needs of students
* Deal promptly and efficiently with requirements such as record keeping and the maintenance of student attendance and achievement information.
* Attend student assemblies, worship and other activities as required.
* Model effective practice and support colleagues to implement inclusive strategies that engage and support all students, creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Selection Criteria
* Willingness to be part of a well-established and collaborative team.
* A demonstrated ability to apply the principles of inclusive teaching and learning, including the use of learning technologies and assessment, to create a supportive and challenging environment in which students are supported in achieving to their potential.
* Proven classroom management and communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to contribute to the diverse extracurricular program of the College.
* An active interest in and commitment to the education of young children.
* Ability to conduct oneself in a way which develops personal respect, respect for the College and the teaching profession.
Essential Qualifications
* Current Queensland College of Teacher Registration.
* Degree/Diploma qualifications relevant to the position.
