People don't arrive at Biio on their best days.
They arrive managing symptoms, uncertainty, long histories of dismissal, and the quiet exhaustion of navigating a healthcare system that often feels fragmented and impersonal.
For many patients, the person who greets them at the front desk is the first signal of whether this experience will be different.
This role carries more weight than it appears to.
The Receptionist & Patient Advocate is often the first steady point of contact a patient encounters. You help create an environment where people feel oriented, respected, and safe from the moment they walk through the door.
Your work is visible in small but important ways: a calm welcome, clear communication, thoughtful follow‐through, and a sense that someone is paying attention.
These moments shape how people experience care.
Why Biio Exists
Biio was built because complex invisible illness is handled poorly in Australia.
People with multi‐system conditions are often passed between providers, asked to repeat their story, and left to coordinate their own care while unwell. Information fragments. Plans change. Predictability disappears.
We built something different.
Biio brings multiple disciplines into one coordinated system. We hold the full picture once. We make reasoning visible. We reduce randomness and restore continuity.
The Receptionist & Patient Advocate plays an important role in that structure.
You are where the system meets the person.
When this role is done well, patients feel welcomed rather than uncertain, and the day runs smoothly for both clinicians and patients.
What You'll Hold Here
You are responsible for the front‐of‐house experience of the clinic.
You greet patients, orient them to what will happen during their visit, and make sure they feel acknowledged and supported from the moment they arrive.
You help ensure that appointments flow smoothly, communication is clear, and no patient feels forgotten or confused about what happens next.
Your responsibilities may include:
* Welcoming and checking in patients at the clinic
* Managing the reception desk and appointment systems
* Coordinating with clinicians and operations to keep schedules running smoothly
* Assisting patients with questions about appointments, logistics, and next steps
* Supporting patient communication between visits
* Maintaining accurate records and administrative systems
* Ensuring the clinic environment feels calm, organised, and respectful
But the real work is attentiveness.
You notice when someone is anxious.
You explain things clearly when people are unsure.
You ensure that small problems are resolved before they grow into larger frustrations.
You understand that the experience of care begins long before the clinical consultation.
Who Thrives in This Role
* You are naturally warm, calm, and attentive to others.
* You communicate clearly and kindly.
* You notice details without losing sight of the person in front of you.
* You take responsibility seriously and follow through on what you promise.
* You remain composed when the environment becomes busy.
* You understand that reception work in healthcare is not simply administrative—it is relational.
* People from healthcare reception, hospitality, patient support, care coordination, or other people‐focused roles often thrive here.
* Maturity, reliability, and emotional intelligence matter more than titles.
Growth Pathways
This role sits at an important interface within Biio.
Strong contributors may expand into patient coordination, operational support, or broader care‐navigation responsibilities as the organisation grows.
You will gain firsthand insight into how coordinated multidisciplinary healthcare operates—an uncommon and valuable experience for people interested in long‐term careers in healthcare or care coordination.
Growth here comes from reliability, initiative, and care for the work.
Practical Structure
Full‐time (or close to full‐time), onsite in Subiaco.
Part‐time may be considered for exceptional candidates.
You will work closely with both the operations and clinical teams in a thoughtful but fast‐moving environment where presence and attention matter.
If You're the Kind of Person Who Steadies Rooms
If you naturally create calm, treat people with respect, and take quiet pride in helping systems run well, we would like to meet you.
The work may appear simple on the surface. Its impact is not.
