You'll join the Service Management Modernisation (SMM) Program, a strategic initiative driving DevSecOps transformation across the bank. Our mission is to simplify and automate operational processes, empowering service owners and engineers to focus on innovation. You'll work closely with a newly formed squad embedded in SRE Engineering, collaborating with a Product Manager and engineers across business units to solve real-world challenges through automation, data, and AI.

Cultural fit and attitude first. Main responsibilities as Principal Software Engineer:
* You'll be a technical leader and strategic thinker, driving the design and delivery of scalable, solutions (AI and Traditional)
* You'll bring deep expertise in Software development, GenAI, architecting and deploying best practices to cloud platforms, and modern engineering practices to guide teams, influence architecture, and shape the future of our technology landscape
* Fostering a collaborative culture by partnering with technical leaders, engineers and product owners to ensure successful customer focused outcomes are delivered
* Lead and/or partner on the design and implementation of engineering solutions across the enterprise, with a focus on platform engineering, prompt engineering, and knowledge engineering
* Drive automation and simplification of compliance and operational processes through data, dashboards, and system integrations
* Build and scale GenAI capabilities, including infrastructure for model fine-tuning, deployment, and monitoring
* Stay ahead of emerging trends in software development but particularly AI/ML, LLMs, and cloud technologies, and translate insights into actionable strategies
* Ensure compliance with data privacy and governance standards in all development initiatives
* Continued mentoring of engineering talent
* Ability to document and communicate thoughts and ideas to snr. leadership and non-technical audiences
Tech skills:
You will need to be across a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all deeply but experience or exposure to some of these will set you up for success in this team:
* You are a full cycle developer that can code in 2 or more: Python, TypeScript, Golang
* You have demonstrated experience developing microservices using and developing robust, scalable RESTful APIs
* Database experience includes Vector/Graph and non-deterministic testing approaches
* Cloud platform experience with AWS and Azure
* Demonstrated success in platform engineering, including infrastructure design, scalability, and reliability
* Practice experience in: DevSecOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, TDD and/or BDD
* Deep expertise in GenAI, LLMs, and ML frameworks (e.g. LangChain, Semantic Kernel)
* Proven experience as a Principal Engineer or Technical Lead in large-scale, cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure)
* Demonstratable experience with customer engagement systems, automated testing frameworks
