About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on and commercially minded Senior Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is responsible for managing the full-function accounting of the business and providing critical financial insight to support decision-making. You will be instrumental in driving timely, accurate reporting, overseeing day-to-day financial operations, and contributing to process improvement across the group.

Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the full-function accounting across the business, including accounts payable and receivable, credit control, bank reconciliations, and month-end processes
Prepare and deliver accurate monthly and year-end financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
Manage payroll processing, including ensuring timely and accurate payments, superannuation, and statutory compliance
Manage BAS, PAYG, GST lodgements and compliance obligations
Support the CFO with budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
Partner with operational teams on job costing, margin analysis, and performance reporting
Liaise with external auditors and coordinate year-end audit preparation
Drive process improvement and system enhancements across finance
Ensure full compliance with regulatory, tax and corporate requirements
Provide ad hoc financial insight and analysis to support business decisions
About You
CA/CPA qualification (or working towards completion)
5+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in waste management, logistics, construction, or other operationally intensive industries
Strong understanding of accounting principles and transactional finance functions (AP/AR)
Proficiency in MYOB, Xero, or other mid-tier ERP systems
Advanced Excel skills and a high level of financial accuracy
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational abilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills – able to liaise across departments and levels
A hands-on, proactive approach with a desire to improve systems and add value
