Development Manager – CIP Terra Technologies
We are looking for a Development Manager to join the team in Melbourne, Australia. The role involves managing key project development workstreams for onshore renewable energy projects (wind, solar, battery), ensuring projects reach Final Investment Decision, and working closely with engineering, finance, legal and procurement teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Project management of key development workstreams.
* Analyse grid connection, permitting and environmental constraints to optimise project development strategies.
* Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategy and ensure communication and engagement of stakeholders to secure local support.
* Coordinate with shareholder regulatory affairs and align communication and engagement.
* Oversee the preparation of project proposals covering technical, financial and environmental aspects.
* Work with third‐party developers and companies to progress projects.
* Secure all project permits and consents and enable project progress according to schedule.
* Interface with the engineering team to align permitting envelope.
* Work closely with engineering, finance, legal and procurement teams to reach key project milestones.
* Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost‐effectiveness and profitability.
* Lead negotiations for land lease agreements, contractor engagements and procurement contracts.
* Support preparation of financial models and investment cases to secure funding and approvals.
* Ensure transparent communication to senior CIP stakeholders on project development.
Required Qualifications
* Relevant degree in Engineering, Economics, Environmental Science, Business or similar field.
* +7 years of experience in renewable energy project development.
* Stakeholder management skills and ability to coordinate with partners and maintain key relationships.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, with ability to document project information and risks concisely.
* Team‐oriented with initiative and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
* Highly motivated individual thriving in a fast‐moving, innovative environment.
