About the Role
Westgold Resources is expanding its longhole drilling operations and seeks experienced longhole drillers to operate Sandvik boom rigs and occasional horseshoe rigs. The role reports to the Shift Supervisor and is part of the production mining team responsible for drilling blast holes prior to charging and blasting operations.
Responsibilities
* Drill and bolt inclines, declines and ore drives
* Set up and operate longhole drilling rigs to produce designated blast patterns
* Diagnose and resolve drill problems and advise personnel
* Remove drill cuttings and sludge to maintain clean drill holes
* Carry out other duties as directed by the Mine Supervisor
Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years underground mining experience
* Experience operating Sandvik 432i Solo, Boom and Horseshoe rigs
* Previous experience as a Loader Operator and Development Charge Up Operator
* Valid C Class Manual license
* Flexible, independent and team‐oriented work style
