The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector
We are seeking a highly skilled Tier II Network Technician to support various WAN and LAN networks. This individual will provide incident resolution, routing changes, firewall changes; act as subject matter expert in WAN and LAN technologies; support intra- and inter-net and other data communications systems or segments of networked system.
Job Duties:
1. Install and maintain client LAN/WAN devices.
2. Respond to and resolve incident tickets.
3. Draft and implement standard network change requests.
4. Support Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), and coordinate and install new equipment).
5. Perform configuration management functions such as update topology drawings, ensure asset management records are accurate, and conduct inventory.
6. Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
7. Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), Port Security, and Thin Configurations).
Requirements:
1. Tier 3 security clearance with Polygraph examination.
2. At least 16 years of experience in the field, which can be a combination of work history and education.
3. Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
4. Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals.
5. Working knowledge of layer 2 switching concepts.
6. Familiarity with CISCO/Juniper Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes.
7. Hands-on experience with Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks (CAT5, Single Mode (SM)/Multimode (MM) Fiber, Serial cables, Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP)).
8. Knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) models.
9. Familiarity with Cisco Internetworking Operating System (IOS), Juniper JUNOS, and the Brocade and Foundry Operating System (OS).
10. Familiarity with Layer 3 protocols such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP), Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP), Multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), Language Server Protocol (LSP), and Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE).
11. Familiarity with Microsoft Visio, ServiceNow, and Atlassian Confluence.
12. Working knowledge of Service Now or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products.
13. Possible travel up to 25%.
