We have a full-time position available at our Cairns Head Office for an Operational Compliance & Business Systems Lead.
About the Role
The Operational Compliance & Business Systems Lead role is responsible for the compliance of the Cairns Depot ensuring all fleet vehicles, storage and depot operations comply with all regulatory and legislative standards. In addition, it is responsible for managing driver and vehicle documentation relating to compliance, maintaining safety standards, conducting audits and implementing best practices to minimize risks and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Management
* Ensure adherence to NHVR regulations, manage compliance testing, audits, and maintain up-to-date safety and maintenance documentation.
* Develop, monitor, and action risk registers with the EH&S team; manage the internal load program and SLP portals; oversee Telematics and fleet compliance systems.
* Manage and drive reviews on the Mass, Fatigue & Maintenance manuals in line with company document control procedure.
* Conduct and document site and tank risk assessments, ensure corrective actions are followed up, and maintain delivery and site documentation.
* Maintain risk assessment (STA) database, handle customer insurance requests, and create/update Safe Work Instructions (SWIs) for high-risk tasks.
Driver Management
* Manage driver competency assessments and ensure all drivers have the necessary up to date qualifications
* Maintain compliance with Dangerous Goods (DG) regulations and participate in audits of high-risk driver tasks.
* Conduct regular Basic Fatigue Management driver audits using internal systems and maintain up-to-date documentation of driver competencies.
Key Selection Criteria
* Strong understanding of Driver Fatigue and Chain of Responsibility legislation, along with sound EH&S and quality systems experience.
* High-level computer literacy, report preparation skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Effective written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
