Civil Engineering Draftsperson Role Overview
The Civil Engineering Draftsperson is a key member of our engineering and project delivery teams, responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, models, and documentation for civil and structural projects. With a focus on post-tensioned systems and concrete structures, this role requires expertise in CAD software and the ability to interpret engineers' rough sketches, technical specifications, and calculations.
* Prepare accurate and clear drawings of structural and civil components of construction projects, including slabs, beams, columns, and reinforcement detailing.
* Draft site layouts and formwork plans in accordance with engineering specifications and post-tensioning requirements.
* Interpret engineers' design requirements, convert rough sketches into detailed drawings, and resolve any discrepancies.
* Collaborate with engineers and project stakeholders to ensure accurate drafting outputs and resolve any issues that may arise.
* Perform basic engineering calculations as required to support drafting accuracy.
* Assist with preparation of as-built drawings and construction documentation packages for project delivery.
Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the structural engineering team to deliver high-quality drafting outputs within agreed timelines.
* Ensure compliance with project scopes, technical requirements, and relevant Australian codes and standards.
* Maintain version control and quality assurance procedures on all drafting outputs.
