The team

ASIC's Markets Group safeguards trust and confidence in Australia's financial markets. The Group oversees the full regulatory lifecycle, licensing, supervision, investigation and enforcement - working to detect, prevent and deter market misconduct and promote market integrity and resilience.

The Markets Supervision teams are ASIC's front‐line supervisors of market infrastructure and intermediaries, including participants, securities dealers, corporate advisers and over the counter (OTC) market participants. The teams take a proactive, risk‐based approach to supervision, identifying emerging risks and driving regulatory responses that protect investors and markets.

The role

As a Senior Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary supervision team and be accountable for developing and delivering a forward‐looking, risk‐based supervision strategy across regulated entities. You will exercise strong regulatory judgement, engage with senior stakeholders, and drive timely identification and escalation of risks to prevent harm and improve compliance.

Key Responsibilities
* Leading a proactive, judgement‐led supervision program focused on outcomes and market integrity
* Setting priorities and ensuring high‐quality supervisory analysis and data‐driven regulatory decision‐making
* Assess compliance with statutory and licence obligations, governance and risk management frameworks
* Identifying and escalating indicators of potential market misconduct and driving effective supervisory interventions
* Act as a senior point of engagement with executives, boards and key domestic and international stakeholders
* Building team capability through coaching, performance management and a strong safety and wellbeing focus
About You

You are a confident and experienced leader with strong regulatory judgement and the ability to operate effectively in complex, high‐pressure environments. You bring a strategic, risk‐focused mindset and can translate analysis into clear expectations and outcomes.

You Will Also Demonstrate
* Senior leadership experience in a regulatory, financial services, markets or related environment
* Strong analytical, problem‐solving and capability and ability to draw on data to make evidence-based decisions
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
* Experience leading teams, setting direction and building capability in high‐volume or complex settings
* Sound understanding of risk management, governance and operational or financial resilience
* Experience supervising or working within financial markets or market regulation
