Position: Land Use Investigation Officer Salary from: $73,293.37 - $103,390.80 per annum Superannuation Location: Logan Administration Office As a Land Use Investigations Officer, you will be assessing and investigating complaints made to council with regards to the potential misuse of land within Logan City Council that may be damaging or in breach of environment, or planning, related legislation. You will be undertaking investigations, reviewing our policies and processes to determine the most appropriate investigation techniques, and making an assessment to understand what offences or penalties may apply. Position Responsibilities will include: Identify, assess, and provide an assessment to determine compliance or non-compliance with the Planning Act 2016, the Local Government Act 2009, Environmental Protection Act 1994 and Logan Planning Scheme 2015 Providing information, advice and referrals to complainants, landowners and to other interested parties. Negotiate effectively to encourage compliance and timely resolution of matters. Maintain factual records that support legally enforceable compliance outcomes. Create positive and meaningful engagements with internal stakeholders. Remain customer focussed, diligent and professional when dealing with all stakeholders and customers. Qualification, knowledge, skills, and experience You will have experience with one or more of the following: An understanding of town planning legislation/regulation or the ability to quickly become familiar with new legislation Tertiary qualifications in town planning and/or investigation fields are desired but not required Compliance, Enforcement, Regulatory or Ombudsman type of experience Highly developed analytical ability, organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing demands/multiple projects. Strong written and verbal communication that supports facilitating and negotiating outcomes that are aligned to both council and the customers interests. Possess a C Class Drivers Licence Be willing and able to undertake role specific psychometric and physical functional capacity assessments.
