About the Role
I am seeking a Mid/Senior Communications Manager to join an ANZ communications team on a 12 month contract basis. Working closely in a small but dynamic in house team and with a trusted agency partner you will be responsible for shaping and executing corporate communications strategy across earned and owned media for the fastest growing platform in the world. This varied role has a mix of proactive and reactive media management, where no two days are the same and covers both consumer and policy communications. You'll be responsible for thinking on your feet, coming up with great stories and answering media queries.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute communication strategies that align with global priorities and adapt to local business needs.
* Build trust through storytelling and shape narratives that protect and enhance reputation ensuring messaging resonates with key audiences and with tier 1 media.
* Provide insightful responses to media
* Act as a trusted advisor, proactively identifying opportunities to shift brand perception and manage issues in collaboration with Government Relations, Legal and other teams.
* Partner with internal and global teams to provide communications guidance and solutions that drive business objectives
Core Skills

* Proven storytelling ability, experience working with tier 1 media and an understanding of the ANZ media landscape
* Strong issues management experience, balancing strategic thinking and tactical execution
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to craft compelling media releases, pitches, and responses.
* An ability to engage and influence both internal and external stakeholders
* Previous experience in an external communications role/media team or experience as a journalist.
This is a Sydney based role with 3 days in office and 2 days WFH.
