Opportunity
Day rate contract view to permanent or permanent opportunity for Application Support Specialist with background in either telecommunications, utilities or transport with maintenance, job and asset management experience. You’ll be providing full end-to-end techno-functional consulting managing new enhancement projects (from hours to weeks), on-boarding new clients, and triage issues with a bespoke application with mobile front-end, built on SQL and Microsoft .Net technology. The application you will be supporting is an in-house software system that is used to manage maintenance contracts and to enhance efficiency and productivity. The solution offers tools for work order management, resource and inventory management, asset management, cost control, field mobility, and GIS/mapping.
Role
* Consult with business stakeholders to understand application and business process requirements, run workshops and one-on-one consulting.
* Project manage and deliver new enhancements and features reporting to Business and Applications Manager
* Assist the operational needs of the business (utilities, transport and telco) in the implementation of processes, workflows, data analysis, reporting using the system
* Triage any defects and provide BAU support to users, scoping any enhancements required
* Develop, configure, test and release changes to the application
* Reporting using PowerBI
* Documentation of business requirements, testing, release notes, user notes, and end-user training documentation and delivery
* Engage with other development teams (mobiles)
* Advanced SQL scripting, JavaScript, C, C#, .Net, JSON, XML/XSLT
Requirements
* At least 3+ years’ experience in Application Support of a bespoke software application (preferred) or COTS
* Techno-functional experience covering business analysis and requirements definition, project managing enhancements, development, testing, release management
* End user support and training documentation and delivery
* Advanced SQL scripting from scratch, preferably in MS SQL Server, strong data interrogation and manipulation skills
* String JavaScript, C or C# and .Net
* JSON, XML/HTML
* Experience using modern reporting tools such as PowerBI
* Agile project management – JIRA, Confluence, MS Project
* Prior experience working in Telecommunication, Utilities, Transport, Water, Gas, Electricity and functional knowledge of Field Services, Jobs and Asset Management, Work Order Management
* Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail
* Ability to travel at times and work with business users in the field
