In this role, you'll :
* Be working as part of a brand-new team that is establishing a Bus Regulatory Transformation Program, providing analytical and strategic support to assess, improve, and align bus driver and bus operator regulation for the Safety, Policy, Environment and Regulation (SPER) division, as a result of Bus Taskforce findings.
* Map out the current regulations for bus drivers and operators to get a clear picture of existing practices, identifying gaps or areas for improvement based on comparison with other regulators, ensuring alignment with Bus Taskforce recommendations.
* Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to gather insights, validate findings, and ensure alignment with industry and regulatory expectations.
* Use data and analytics to provide evidence-based insights to support decision-making and solution development.
Please note that this is a fixed-term full-time position until February 2027.
About you
Your proven strong analysis skills and problem-solving acumen, solid experience in research or information management or similar will see you excel in supporting the policy, regulatory and project teams of this new team. In addition, you will be adept at working on tools such as Visio and PowerPoint to present your work.
You will leverage your tertiary qualifications in analysis, research or behavioural science, along with policy or regulatory experience within transport or a similar environment to deliver on the recommendations from the findings of the Bus Taskforce.
You’re passionate about problem solving and working with others within a Greenfields environment. You're recognised for your ability to prioritise your work under time pressure and for being pragmatic and outcomes focused.
You are self-motivated, organised and enjoy taking ownership of your work and working in a multi-disciplinary team. You’re also an effective communicator, able to simplify complex information and share it clearly with stakeholders at all levels.
This team is currently enjoying a hybrid way of working in line with the base office located at 231 Elizabeth St Sydney and is evolving in line with Transport's policies for workplace presence.
