Field Area Managers oversee operations in Queensland, ensuring optimal production and cost outcomes through the management of direct labor and subcontractors.
The role works in a healthy and safe environment.
* Conduct site visits to ensure efficient works are completed on time.
* Engage with and brief subcontractors on their scope of work for construction projects.
* Provide leadership and direction to both internal and subcontractor workforce to deliver project objectives.
* Collaborate with Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Area Managers to select appropriate resources and tasks.
The Field Area Manager will also liaise with Site Engineers to ensure materials and equipment are readily available ahead of construction activities. They will report on daily site events, progress as well as any variations to contract schedules and work volumes.
The role requires compliance to Work Instructions (WIs), Method of Procedures (MOPs) or plans provided.
Strong collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders must be developed and maintained.
Best and safe practices will be promoted and implemented by the successful candidate to ensure 'Safety above all else'. This includes implementing safety policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications

* Telstra project background in Wideband, ARCW, IEN works desirable.
* 5+ years of industry experience in a similar position.
* Civil Background i.e. previous experience working with Directional Drills, Ploughing, Open Trenching, ACM Removal, Pit, Pipe and optic fibre installation.
* Subcontractor management skills required.
* Understanding of the Telstra Copper and Optical Fibre Network.
* Experience with Bore, Trench, and Plough construction techniques.
* Ability to read and understand Telstra Data Base of Records (DBORs).
* Must be able to read and understand Dial Before You Dig (DBYD) plans.
* Sound computer skills.
Note: Relevant industry certifications may be beneficial but not essential.
