Willare Bridge Roadhouse is seeking a reliable and motivated Kitchenhand to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
In this role, you will support the kitchen team by assisting with food preparation, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen, and ensuring that all kitchen equipment and work areas meet food safety and hygiene standards.
Key Duties:
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workspaces, food preparation areas, and storage facilities to ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
Wash and sanitise kitchen utensils, cookware, dishes, and other equipment used during food preparation and service.
Assist kitchen staff by preparing basic ingredients such as washing, cutting, and portioning vegetables, fruits, and other food items.
Organise and move kitchen supplies, checking that ingredients and equipment are available when needed.
Support the preparation of simple food items such as salads, sandwiches, and side dishes under the direction of cooks or chefs.
Help with setting up food items and trays for service when required.
Assist with basic heating or preparation of simple menu items as instructed by kitchen staff.
Ensure food storage areas, refrigerators, and shelves are kept clean and properly organised.
Dispose of kitchen waste and maintain cleanliness of rubbish and recycling areas.
Follow workplace health, safety, and food hygiene procedures at all times.
Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Requirements:
AQF Certificate I, or compulsory secondary education.
At least one year of relevant full-time work experience in a kitchen, hospitality, or food service
environment.
Basic knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Good organisational skills and attention to cleanliness.
Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks promptly.
Physically capable of standing for extended periods and performing manual tasks such as lifting and carrying kitchen supplies.
A positive attitude and willingness to assist the kitchen team when required.
Pay: $68,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
