Research Position in Computational Mathematics
About the Role
The School of Mathematics is seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team as a Research Fellow. This exciting opportunity involves working on advanced numerical discretisations for multiphysics PDEs, with a focus on mathematical and computational aspects of problems with dynamic interfaces.
As a successful candidate, you will have the chance to work closely under the guidance of leading researchers in the field and contribute to the development of novel nonlinear, multiphysics, and multiscale PDE systems modelling the electromechanics of heart and torso.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop advanced numerical discretisations for multiphysics PDEs
2. Work closely under the guidance of Professor Santiago Badia and Professor Ricardo Ruiz Baier
3. Disseminate results through research articles and technical presentations
In addition to these key responsibilities, you will also be required to engage in other related activities such as disseminating results and collaborating with colleagues.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must possess a PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field. You should have a strong theoretical background in the numerical approximation of PDEs using finite element methods and expertise in the efficient implementation of these algorithms.
Apart from your academic qualifications, we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate their ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex ideas clearly.
What We Offer
We offer a dynamic and supportive work environment that encourages collaboration and innovation. As a Research Fellow, you will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources, as well as opportunities to engage in professional development and networking.
