We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable, and resilient technology solutions for clients in the Energy and Utilities sector (Electricity/Gas). The role requires deep expertise in TOGAF-based architecture, solution and security design, and Zero Trust Architecture, with a strong ability to perform trade-off assessments and produce high-quality architectural artefacts.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end solution architecture and design across complex enterprise environments.
* Apply TOGAF (or equivalent) principles to develop target, transition, and solution architectures.
* Design and implement Zero Trust Architecture across applications, infrastructure, and networks.
* Conduct architecture trade-off assessments to evaluate technology, security, cost, and performance options.
* Develop and maintain detailed SAD (Solution Architecture Design) and CAD (Computer Aided Design) artefacts.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders, security teams, engineers, and delivery teams to ensure architectural alignment.
* Ensure solutions comply with security, regulatory, and industry standards, particularly within Energy and Utilities.
* Provide architectural governance, review designs, and support solution assurance activities.
* Translate business and regulatory requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions.
* Act as a trusted advisor to clients, contributing to architecture roadmaps and digital transformation initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
Architecture & Frameworks
* TOGAF certification (or equivalent) – mandatory
* Strong experience in Solution Architecture and Design
* Proven experience producing SAD / CAD documentation
Security & Design
* Solid background in Solution Architecture and Security Architecture
* Hands-on experience with Zero Trust Architecture (essential)
* Strong capability in architecture trade-off analysis and decision-making
Industry Experience
* Recent, hands-on experience working with clients in the Energy and Utilities sector (Electricity/Gas) – essential
* Understanding of industry-specific challenges, regulations, and operational environments
Technical & Professional Skills
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
* Experience working in complex enterprise or regulated environments
Desirable Skills
* Additional architecture or security certifications (e.g., SABSA, CISSP, CCSP)
* Experience with cloud and hybrid architectures
* Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and modern application architectures
