We have an opportunity for a Systems Engineer - Tactical Communications Networks in Melbourne to deliver and support systems engineering activities for CA31's communications capability, ensuring alignment with Defence engineering frameworks and compliance requirements. The role involves stakeholder engagement, managing systems engineering specifications and resources, and analysing system defects and requirements to develop practical solutions and recommendations across the Defence capability lifecycle.
What You'll Do
* Deliver and manage systems engineering activities across the Defence materiel capability lifecycle
* Investigate, analyse and resolve complex engineering defects, risks and system requirements
* Develop technical documentation, certification reports and engineering change proposals
* Engage with internal and external stakeholders across CASG, ADF and industry partners
* Contribute to program delivery, system safety, and compliance with Defence engineering frameworks
What You'll Bring
* Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Communications, Software, Mechatronics or similar) aligned with Washington Accord requirements AND Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain registration
* Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, Defence Capability Life Cycle (CLC) and configuration management
* Experience delivering engineering outcomes including technical certification, engineering changes, and assurance activities
* Experience working with Defence stakeholders and suppliers on complex communications or systems integration projects
* Exposure to tactical communications systems, RF/network engineering, or deployable Defence communications environments
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain an AGSVA Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
