Austal Defence Australia is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join the Design and Engineering team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing, reviewing and integrating complex electrical systems across our naval shipbuilding programs, ensuring all designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.

What's Involved
* Drive practical, compliant design solutions and technical decision‐making
* Coordinate closely with discipline leads and manage supplier interactions
* Ensure documentation is accurate, traceable and meets all audit standards
* Maintain schedule awareness and deliver quality outputs on time
* Communicate effectively across teams and provide technical support
* Champion innovation, process improvement and cost‐effective design solutions
You'll Need
* Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical/Mechatronics) or equivalent
* Basic AutoCAD skills
* Solid understanding of Production Methods
* Understanding of LV and ELV Power generation and distribution
* Knowledge of regulatory body rules and regulations
* 5‐10 years' experience in a similar role
