Payroll/Finance Officer

Position No. 33

Permanent Full-Time

Band 5 - $74,861 - $85,591 yearly, plus 12% statutory superannuation

Take the next step in your career with Wellington Shire Council as our Payroll/Finance Officer Bring your payroll accuracy and attention to detail to support the smooth delivery of Council's payroll and finance functions.

What your day will look like

As our Payroll/Finance Officer you will:

* Process Council's fortnightly payroll accurately and efficiently in line with Enterprise Agreements, Awards, and Fair Work provisions.
* Maintain employee records and masterfile data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with audit and legislative requirements.
* Provide quality customer service to staff by responding to payroll queries and supporting employee access to payroll systems.
* Assist with financial administration tasks, including data entry, reconciliations, and reporting.
* Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets, data, and statistical reports.

About You

Our ideal candidate is someone who is:

* Experienced in end-to-end payroll processing, with strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
* Skilled in using payroll and finance systems, including Microsoft Office and data management software.
* Knowledgeable about Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and Fair Work legislation relevant to local government.
* Organised, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
* A clear communicator who provides excellent customer service and works effectively as part of a team.
