We support some of Australia's largest mining operations through secure, reliable, and high‐performing Managed Services.We are currently building a talent pool of **IT Field Services Technicians** to support mine sites across **regional NSW**. This is a **drive‐in / drive‐out (non‐FIFO)** role, providing hands‐on onsite support in operational mining environments.**Role Purpose**As an IT Field Services Technician, you will be the **onsite face of DXC**, delivering high‐quality IT support that ensures the availability and continuity of systems relied on by mine operations.This role is focused on **end‐user computing, infrastructure support, and service request fulfilment** within a Managed Services framework. You will work closely with site personnel and DXC's remote delivery teams to resolve incidents efficiently and in line with agreed SLAs.The role also requires an **understanding of Operational Technology (OT) environments**, enabling you to work safely and effectively around production systems. While you will not be responsible for OT systems, you must understand where IT and OT intersect and follow strict escalation, access, and change‐control processes.**Key Responsibilities****IT Service Delivery & Incident Resolution*** Deliver onsite IT support across desktops, laptops, peripherals, enterprise printing, collaboration tools, and mobile devices.* Resolve incidents and service requests via DXC ticketing systems in line with SLAs and ITIL practices.* Provide hands‐on troubleshooting for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.* Attend mine operational areas where issues cannot be resolved remotely.* Execute IMAC activities including device imaging, deployment, configuration, upgrades, and replacements.* Support AV and collaboration systems in offices, meeting rooms, and control environments.**Managed Infrastructure Support*** Perform basic network troubleshooting including cabling, ports, Wi‐Fi access, and endpoint connectivity.* Support monitoring, patching, and endpoint management activities under DXC processes.* Assist with identifying recurring incidents and contribute to root cause analysis where required.* Maintain accurate technical documentation and incident records.**IT Responsibilities*** End‐user devices, peripherals, printers, and collaboration tools.* IT networks, endpoints, servers, and applications managed by DXC.* IT components that interface with OT environments **only under approved processes**.* Incident triage and escalation where IT services may impact operational systems.**OT Awareness & Collaboration*** Work safely in proximity to OT systems and control environments.* Understand IT/OT interaction points and operational criticality.* Perform **non‐intrusive** checks (e.g. device status, basic connectivity verification) only when authorised.* Escalate OT‐related issues promptly and accurately to OT owners or Technical Teams.* Strictly follow site change controls, access restrictions, and safety protocols.**Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration*** Communicate clearly with mine‐site users, supervisors, and operational staff.* Build strong working relationships across multiple sites.* Collaborate with DXC remote resolver groups to deliver consistent Managed Services outcomes.* Provide professional, customer‐focused service aligned to DXC values.**Operational Excellence & Asset Management*** Manage IT storerooms, stock levels, asset tracking, and audits.* Coordinate logistics, delivery, and safe handling of IT equipment.* Maintain disciplined ticket updates, reporting, and documentation.**Health, Safety, Security & Environment*** Demonstrate a strong commitment to **DXC Zero Harm** and site safety standards.* Comply with all mine‐site HSE requirements, inductions, permits, and PPE rules.* Apply secure IT practices aligned to client and DXC security policies.* Model safe behaviour in operational areas and when travelling between sites.**Technical Skills & Experience****Core IT Skills*** Strong troubleshooting experience across end‐user devices and peripherals.* Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (switching, Wi‐Fi, VLANs, cabling).* Experience with Windows OS; exposure to macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS.* Familiarity with endpoint management, monitoring, and remote support tools.* Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals in operational environments.**OT Awareness (Non‐Engineering)*** Experience working around OT or industrial environments.* Understanding of the differences between IT and OT priorities (stability, safety, uptime).* Awareness of control rooms, HMIs, and industrial network sensitivities.* Strong respect for escalation, access control, and production protection.**Education & Experience*** Bachelor's degree in IT or related discipline **OR** equivalent hands‐on experience.* Typically **4–6 years** experience in IT support, including field or onsite roles.* Experience in mining, industrial, or operational environments preferred.* Demonstrated ability to work independently in high‐impact environments.* Commitment to continuous learning and safety‐focused delivery.**Preferred Certifications*** OEM certifications (HP, Dell, Lenovo, Apple, Microsoft).* CompTIA A+, Network+ (Security+ advantage).* Cisco CCNA (advantage).* Microsoft 365 / Teams certifications.* ITIL Foundation.* Introductory OT or industrial safety awareness training (advantage).At DXC, we value **Deliver, Collaborate, Care, and Do the Right Thing**.
