The Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Carpenter to join our dynamic maintenance team at the Howard Springs Defense Accommodation Precinct, working on projects for the Northern Territory Government. This role is ideal for a skilled professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in high-quality craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
As a Carpenter with Akron Group NT, you will be responsible for:
* Reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
* Measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and other materials with precision.
* Installing structures and fixtures, including windows, doors, flooring, cabinetry, and other carpentry elements.
* Repairing, renovating, and maintaining existing structures to ensure their safety and functionality.
* Operating a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
* Ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards, following safety regulations and company policies.
* Collaborating with team members and supervisors to complete projects on time and within scope.
* Troubleshooting and problem-solving issues that arise on-site.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* To be considered for this role, you must have:
* Certificate III in Carpentry (or equivalent qualification).
* A minimum of 2 years of carpentry experience in a similar role.
* Your own set of carpentry tools.
* A current driver's license and reliable transportation.
* A valid Construction White Card.
* The ability to work flexible hours, including after-hours and weekends if required.
* A methodical, detail-oriented, and thorough approach to work.
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
* Willingness to undergo a National Police Check.
* Ability to obtain or currently hold an Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance).
