The Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our team delivering high-quality repairs, maintenance and renovation works across government-owned residential properties. This is a rewarding opportunity to work on diverse projects that directly support community housing outcomes.
As part of a larger government client program, you'll be responsible for delivering maintenance tasks, refurbishment and upgrade works to ensure residential properties remain safe, functional and comfortable for occupants.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
* Carrying out carpentry works including repairs, renovations, fit-outs and upgrades to residential buildings.
* Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and job specifications to complete tasks accurately.
* Cutting, shaping and installing materials such as timber, frames, windows, doors, fixtures and joinery.
* Performing R&M tasks such as fixing damaged structures, replacing worn components, and ensuring finishes meet quality standards.
* Ensuring all work complies with building codes, safety standards and government policies.
* Maintaining a clean and safe worksite, including appropriate documentation and reporting.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* Trade qualification in Carpentry or equivalent.
* Proven experience in residential carpentry, including maintenance and renovation works.
* Strong skills with hand and power tools, measuring and layout techniques.
* Ability to read technical drawings and interpret job requirements accurately.
* Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work autonomously when required.
* Current construction White Card and relevant licences (e.g. driver's licence).
* Commitment to workplace health and safety.
