About the service: The Medicare Mental Health Services are free and you do not need an appointment, referral or Medicare card to visit a Medicare Mental Health Centre. The new services in Devonport, Burnie and Outer Hobart are co-funded by the Australian and Tasmanian Governments, to provide a streamlined approach to support better mental health and social wellbeing across the country. The service is tailored to the needs of the community in Tasmania and provides a combination of peer-integrated recovery and clinical support. You will develop, facilitate and evaluate a range of community events, and health and education programs designed to improve mental health literacy and community awareness of challenges faced by people with mental illness, in order to increase early identification and help them to get early access to appropriate services. You will work closely with our clinical team to understand the services that Medicare Mental Health Centre provides, to advocate our services to the wider community. Requirements: Minimum of a Diploma qualification in mental health or other relevant discipline Experience in a similar role working with people with mental health concerns Experience in planning, developing and delivering of high-quality education, training, and community awareness programs and activities Demonstrated interpersonal skills showing an ability and sensitivity to work with and engage a variety of different people and stakeholders Proven ability to work creatively, collaboratively and effectively as a member of a team Excellent organisation and time management skills Confidence in use of IT including social media applications (e.g. Facebook), as well as website maintenance Excellent verbal communication and written skills, including the ability to identify potential funding sources and write the appropriate grant submissions Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance Current Driver’s License Stride is committed to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable people.
