The Role: Compounding Production Lead

A great opportunity has become available for a Full Time, Permanent position to join the ANZ Compounding Operations team, reporting directly to the Compounding Manager.

Based in our Canning Vale site in Perth, you will be responsible for organizing production according to demand and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of production procedures, ensure smooth and cost-effective operations, and look for process optimization opportunities.

Shift Timing: Monday to Friday, availability from beginning until end of production, rotated with Manager and senior staff as necessary. Flexibility outside of hours may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure efficient resource allocation to manage production volumes, minimize overtime, and maintain workflow.
2. Ownership of rostering.
3. Supervise workflow, including overseeing Flow Controllers and Session Controllers where applicable.
4. Drive process improvements and productivity initiatives.
5. Conduct needs analysis, identify gaps in resources, equipment, or processes.
6. Participate in all aspects of production, focusing on broader operational needs.
7. Engage in daily operational reviews, assess production needs and challenges.
8. Report to Pharmacy Manager daily, if appropriate.
9. Organize monthly meetings with Session Controllers to monitor performance.
10. Maintain proactive communication with customers regarding delivery and production issues.
11. Collaborate with customer service and dispatch teams to resolve issues.
12. Maintain quality and EHS standards and procedures.
13. Handle quality issues or complaints as the initial point of escalation.
14. Build and maintain strong relationships with employees, team leaders, and customers.
15. Participate in leadership team to develop a positive team culture.
16. Ensure training metrics are met, schedule training sessions, and meet operational needs.
17. Provide feedback on individual performance to Team Leaders.
18. Foster a culture of accountability and ownership.
19. Manage direct reports, including production roles such as SCs, dispatch coordinators, stock controllers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

1. Relationship building skills, both internal and external.
2. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
3. Strong leadership qualities.
4. Effective communication skills.
5. Decision-making ability based on sound judgment.
6. Ability to work under pressure.
7. Experience in prioritizing, organizing, and multitasking.
8. Understanding of continuous improvement.
9. Familiarity with reporting systems, production data analysis, Power BI automation.
10. Organized, results-driven, with problem-solving skills.
11. Advanced communication and computer skills are advantageous.
12. People leadership experience is beneficial.

Qualifications:

1. Relevant production experience and understanding of pharmacy service operations at a site level.
