Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced oncology practice management and day hospital environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Greeting patients and collecting their personal details
* Scheduling appointments and coordinating external specialist appointments, radiology scans, and patient tests
* Triaging referrals and directing patients to the appropriate on-site specialists
* Handling calls and responding to enquiries with a smile
* Processing patient billing and managing Medicare, DVA, and health fund claims
* Conducting new patient calls and providing accurate information about our services
* Data entry and ensuring accurate and timely records
* Preparing doctor's clinics and organizing patient files
Our ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cooperatively as a team member. Experience in medical administration or a related field is highly desirable.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Previous experience in a medical receptionist role or similar
* Technical proficiency in Genie and Gentu software (an advantage)
* Strong communication skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work cooperatively as a team member and support our values
