From assessments through to closure, Jacobs is well placed to support them on that journey.As the Principal Water Management Consultant - Mining & Resources, you will provide strategic leadership across all water-related disciplines in mining, including hydrogeology, water conveyance, water balance, surface water hydrology, water quality, stewardship, and regulatory compliance.

You will set clear direction regarding client focus and responsiveness, ensuring we can identify and anticipate client needs.Key Responsibilities Include ( but not limited to ):Leadership & Consultancy: Lead water management consultancy and engineering services across mining projects.
Drive strategic growth in water disciplines within ANZ and globally.Project Support: Develop integrated water solutions for mining clients, leveraging Jacobs' multidisciplinary capabilities.
Identify capability gaps and support recruitment.Collaboration: Work with hydrogeologists, civil/environmental engineers, and project managers to deliver water-related infrastructure and environmental solutions.Team Development: Build technical capability in water disciplines, mentor junior staff, and strengthen delivery through GID centres.Strategic Initiatives: Represent Jacobs at industry forums, lead water stewardship initiatives, and manage complex multidisciplinary projects.Key Elements Include ( but not limited to ):Actively engages in business development, leverages market insights to anticipate client needs and position Jacobs as a leader in sustainable water management.Collaborate closely with Jacobs' client management team to identify emerging opportunities.Collaborate with commercial, project management, and technical leaders to create opportunities in the new energy and resources market.Support cross-functional teams in terms of team development and growth, building technical capability, and growing the portfolio.Establish Jacobs as a trusted advisor in mining water management.Lead technical delivery of:Groundwater and surface water assessmentsWater balance and water quality modellingDewatering and conveyance systemsRegulatory compliance and stewardship frameworksEngineering elements of project delivery, interfacing with local, regional, and GID delivery centres.Prepare bids and submittals, supporting section leaders and project managers in delivering financially successful projects with excellent client satisfaction.Here's what you'll needExtensive demonstrated professional experience predominantly within the Water and Mining / Resources Sector .
Proven experience in effectively leading mining water disciplines of studies, projects and proposal teams.Robust knowledge of international and local engineering methods, applicable codes and specifications associated with resources projects.Experience with various aspects of the planning, design and commissioning processes, construction methods and interface requirements of multi-disciplinary projects.Strong familiarity with delivery methodology including, initiation, development and delivery-phases, the specific requirements and levels of accuracy as well as design maturity required at each delivery gate for resources clients.
(*experience in delivering EPC and/or EPCM projects held in high regard.)A strategic and innovative mindset coupled with the ability to solve complex problems, using strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with others.We\'re open to considering candidates who need to work around school drop-offs/pick-ups or those interested in full-time/part-time job-sharing arrangements - we understand the importance of balancing work commitments with family responsibilities.
