About the Host Employer
Our host employer is a well-established timber and building materials supplier with decades of experience servicing residential, commercial, and large-scale construction projects across Sydney and surrounding regions.
They specialise in treated pine and hardwood timber products and supply a comprehensive range of materials for outdoor construction projects including fencing, decking, retaining walls, pergolas, carports, sleepers, gates, and more. Their operations include large-scale yard and warehouse facilities, a fleet of delivery vehicles, and a strong reputation for quality products and fast, reliable service.
You'll be joining a knowledgeable, hands-on team in a busy trade-focused environment, gaining exposure to all aspects of timber supply, warehousing, logistics, and trade sales.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to complete a Certificate III in Timber Building Products Supply while gaining practical, on-the-job experience in a fast-paced trade and warehouse setting.
As a Timber Building Product Supply Trainee, you'll work across warehouse operations and the trade counter, learning how to support trade customers, manage stock, process orders, and ensure timber products are delivered accurately and on time.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, customer interaction, and learning how a timber supply business operates from the ground up.
Tasks & Responsibilities
* Picking and packing timber products to ensure timely customer delivery
* Working closely with logistics to support the smooth movement of goods
* Learning to operate the trade counter, assisting customers in person, online, and over the phone
* Providing information on timber and building products
* Processing invoices, orders, and sales documentation
* Assisting with pallet jack operation and general warehouse duties
* Delivering professional and friendly customer service in the trade store
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment
