Your Role
An exciting opportunity exists to join the team at Marist College, Emerald, in the position of Facilities Officer (Gardens, Grounds and Maintenance).
This is a full-time continuing position for 38 hours per week, commencing as soon as possible or part-time (minimum of 15 hours) as negotiated.
This role reports to the Principal and will perform daily grounds and maintenance tasks including minor repairs, maintenance of school buildings and surrounds, gardening, beautification and various other tasks as required.
Typical duties include:
Securing grounds and equipment – keeping the school safe
Mowing, trimming and fertilising lawns and turf areas
Repairing and maintaining irrigation systems
Weeding, planting and fertilising gardens
Cleaning outdoors and using high-pressure water cleaners
Assisting with minor building maintenance – e.g., touch-up painting and other minor repairs
Assembling, moving and relocating furniture
Assisting with the setup of spaces for school events
Gardening and general caretaking of school buildings and gardens
Co-operating with other grounds staff as required
Rubbish and waste management
Working with contractors to oversee major repairs and maintenance
About you
The successful applicant will have relevant experience and an understanding of, and a commitment to, the ethos of Catholic Education.
Excellent time-management skills and well-developed interpersonal skills are essential.

Mandatory Requirements
A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act **** (WWC Act) and a valid Suitability Notice is required.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role safely.
