Located 12km south of Townsville, a major gateway to Queensland’s world-renowned Great Barrier Reef, the JBS Townsville Plant is JBS Australia’s most northern operation. Cattle are sourced from a wide supply area, including the Northern Territory, north and north‑western Queensland and packed into the AMH brand, the most trusted name in beef. The plant employs approximately 500 team members with a processing capacity of 900 head of cattle per day, operating 5 days per week.
About the Role
The JBS Townsville Plant is currently seeking experienced Night Wash Cleaners to join the Afternoon Shift team. Reporting to the Hygiene Supervisor, our Cleaners carry out both post and/or pre‑production cleaning across the entire facility requiring the use of open plant cleaning systems (OPCS), hoses, hot water and chemicals to chemically treat and sanitise the facility in preparation for the processing of food products.
Key Responsibilities
* Effectively delivering a clean area each shift both visually and micro biologically
* Taking responsibility for own personal protective clothing, uniforms and equipment issued or provided by the company
* Complying with site safety and personal hygiene standards
* Complying with correct chemical procedures inclusive of applications, quantities and handling
* Identifying and reporting damage, safety or equipment issues prior to and during hygiene activities
* Carry out work with integrity and professionalism ensuring outputs meet the required standards
* Complying with all training and procedures
* Participating in all mandatory training relating to health and safety, hygiene and environmental issues
* Responsibly managing waste or chemical spills in a way that does not breach environmental policies
* Reporting all injuries in a timely manner
About You
* Previous experience with cleaning/hygiene within a food processing environment advantageous
* Ability to work to deadlines and time constraints
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
* Ability to work safely around hazardous chemicals and hot water
* Ability to work in hot, wet and dirty environment
