* Prep for 2 on-property bull sales annually, including assessment, & drafting
* Oversee animal husbandry, reproduction programs, and on-farm semen collection.
* Implement data collection (Sapien Koolcollect)

The Role
The Bull Manager holds a pivotal, hands-on role based across Ellerslie Park near Culcairn, managing a high-value livestock area spanning 1,000 hectares. Your core responsibility is to oversee all weaned stock from the business, managing over 800 sale bulls per year right up until they are sold.
This position is strategically divided into Operational Management (50%), Animal Husbandry (30%), and Data Management (20%). Operationally, you will drive the two annual on-property bull sales, including the critical assessment and drafting of bulls using EBVs and Beefclass assessments, and the implementation of reproduction and animal husbandry programs in the lead-up to the sale days under the owners' direction.
The role further encompasses grazing and pasture management, handling delivery liaison, coordinating contract/lease/private treaty sales, managing NVDs, and ensuring timely maintenance of vehicles and equipment. You are expected to complete QA audits, including LPA, and source necessary materials and animal health products.
For Animal Husbandry, you will schedule and oversee all husbandry events for the bulls in preparation for sale, carry out the on-farm semen collection program, and provide assistance with reproductive work in the cow herd as required. Finally, the Data Management component requires you to utilise Sapien Koolcollect in the yards, and Koolperform and Excel in the office for accurate data collection.
The Employer
Rennylea Angus is a highly respected, dynamic genetics operation specialising in a performance Angus herd. All cattle are comprehensively described by their phenotypes and genotypes and diligently recorded in Group Breedplan, ensuring a focus on data-driven breeding. This role offers the opportunity to join a supportive, collaborative team of 10 people.
The Offer
This is a high-responsibility role managing a significant area of high-value livestock. The successful candidate will be provided with a brand new, four-bedroom home, and the salary package also includes electricity, phone, work vehicle, and meat. You will also have year-round client contact, engaging in problem-solving and advice, and working with owners on pre-sale marketing, post-sale delivery, and follow-up to meet client needs.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making and efficient livestock management. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and good livestock-handling skills. We have an experienced team available to provide support with farm maintenance tasks and on-the-job learning.
