Job Title: Hospital Assistant (Operating Theatres)
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team at Armidale Rural Referral Hospital Operating Theatres as a Hospital Assistant (Operating Theatres). This role is crucial in ensuring safe and efficient perioperative services for the Armidale region.
The successful candidate will support the perioperative team by assisting in patient transfers, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and ensuring that essential items such as blood and pathology specimens are transported as required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to manual handling protocols when transferring patients.
* Assist in positioning and prepping patients while ensuring their dignity is maintained.
* Follow instructions from perioperative staff during theatre procedures.
* Transport blood, pathology specimens, and other necessary items using standard precautions.
* Provide general support to nursing staff and all areas within the Perioperative Unit.
* Work in accordance with organisational policies, ACORN guidelines, and infection control standards.
