What you'll be doing
You will be the person who oversees every step of the weekly payroll process. From validations and reconciliations through to reporting and employee support, you'll run a payroll function that the business depends on for clarity, compliance and reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
Processing accurate, timely end to end weekly payroll
Validating timesheets, allowances, deductions, leave and approvals
Interpreting EBAs, awards and industrial instruments
Maintaining payroll master data, employee records and contract documentation
Preparing payroll reports and payroll related reconciliations
Managing payments to the ATO, super funds and other statutory bodies
Supporting onboarding and ensuring new starter documentation is correct
Responding to employee and manager payroll queries
Keeping processes audit ready and contributing to improvements
What RFT is looking for
At least 5 years end to end payroll experience
Strong knowledge of EBAs, awards, legislation, taxation and superannuation
Experience with weekly, high volume and multi award payrolls
Confident with reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
Strong Excel skills
Experience with HR3 is helpful but not essential
Accurate, reliable and deadline focussed
Professional, approachable and comfortable working with staff at all levels
