Health Workforce Planning is a strategic initiative that requires effective leadership and management. The Director, Health Workforce Planning will play a key role in leading the development and implementation of policies and plans to ensure alignment with the Health Workforce 2040 (HW2040) Strategy and broader system objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and implementation of health workforce policy and planning;
* Collaborate across sectors to align workforce strategies with service and training needs;
* Strengthen workforce data and policy to guide responsive, evidence-based planning;
This role also involves representing Tasmania in national forums, advising on workforce needs, and developing innovative strategies to address barriers and opportunities across the health system.
Requirements
* Demonstrated high-level knowledge and understanding of the health sector, and the political, social, and organisational environment;
* Extensive knowledge of contemporary national and state workforce issues, trends, and workforce change management;
* Specialist knowledge and extensive experience in leading and managing health workforce strategy, policy, and long-term planning;
* Proven capacity to operate with a significant degree of autonomy in a complex specialised environment;
* High-level capacity to deal effectively with competing priorities, pressure, ambiguity, and change;
The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or extensive experience in the management and delivery of health workforce strategy and planning.
