Jacaranda Place – Queensland Adolescent Extended Treatment Centre (QAETC) is seeking a Nurse Educator to design, implement, and evaluate nursing education programs. This role involves leading a culture of learning, managing educational resources, and providing expert nursing guidance to support the strategic priorities of Children's Health Queensland.


About The Team

Jacaranda Place – Queensland Adolescent Extended Treatment Centre (QAETC) is a purpose-built 12-bed state-wide extended treatment inpatient unit and co-located day program, operated by CHQ at The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane. It offers mental health care that supports young people aged 13-18, with consideration for extending to 21 years, based on developmental age.

The centre provides mental health care integrated with educational and vocational training through a multidisciplinary team, including onsite schooling provided by the Department of Education.


About The Role

The Nurse Educator is responsible for the design, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of QAETC nursing education programs, managing resources, and offering nursing expertise on educational issues aligned with the strategic priorities of Nursing Services within CHQHHS. The role promotes a culture of development and enquiry, encouraging clinical, professional, and organisational learning within a Supported Practice Framework.
