Obstetrician Job in Parkes and Forbes
This role is based in Lachlan Health Service across Parkes and Forbes. You will be clinically responsible for conducting both inpatient and outpatient obstetric services.
* As an obstetrician, you will provide medical leadership to the Lachlan Health Service Midwifery Group Practice model of care.
* You will participate in the on-call obstetrics rosters and contribute to improving our services by working closely with midwives.
The role involves providing ante-natal, post-natal and intrapartum care to approximately 300 women per annum.
The service provides outreach clinics to surrounding towns and we are working towards midwifery-led services based at Parkes Hospital.

The facility has 27 beds and includes acute and sub-acute medical, surgical, rehabilitation and palliative care services.
Parkes Hospital is a brand new facility opened in 2015 and offers world-class healthcare services.
Services include two birthing rooms, three maternity beds, two operating theatres, chemotherapy and medical imaging.
* Key qualifications for this role include unconditional General and/or Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and/or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine is also required.
* Significant GP Obstetric skills and experience are necessary, along with a successful completion of training statement from the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
* A minimum three years post graduate clinical experience is also required.
