Role Overview
Inverell District Hospital is seeking locally based Visiting Medical Officers in General Practice, with Advanced Skills in General Practice Anaesthesia, for the 2022-2027 Hunter New England Local Health District Quinquennium. The hospital recently underwent a $60 million redevelopment, expanding its facilities including an Emergency Department, Inpatient Unit, Medical Imaging, Operating Theatres, and more.
Responsibilities
* Provide contemporary, comprehensive, and professional specialist services that are safe, effective, evidence-based, and patient-centered.
* Admit, consult, diagnose, perform procedures, and provide outpatient, telehealth, and on-call services as required.
* Attend and be available during rostered hours and on-call, including clinical handover, supervision, teaching, and emergency and routine care.
* Contribute to education and research activities as required.

Qualifications and Experience
* A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners / Australian College of Rural Remote Medicine, or equivalent.
* Recognised Qualification of Advanced Skill in General Practice Anaesthesia (JCCA, DRGA).
* Recent and comprehensive experience in General Practice.
* Strong communication, collaboration, management, professionalism, and advocacy skills.
