About the role
This is an exceptional opportunity to join Mater’s South Brisbane Perioperative department which boasts 17 operating theatres, covering adult & obstetrics operating theatres including a wide range of specialties.
Our perioperative team are looking for experienced Registered Nurses to provide support in Anaesthetics & PACU.
We have permanent opportunities available for an immediate start. Our successful applicants will be required to perform shift work, and on call duties.
Salary range: $40.27 - $51.74 (Registered Nurse Level 1) per hour plus superannuation & salary packaging
What you’ll be doing
Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:
1. Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care while acting as patient advocate
2. Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients during perioperative journey
3. Provided effective management of post anaesthesia and postoperative complications
4. Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
5. Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

6. Recent Clinical experience in an acute health care setting – novice to Perioperative nursing welcome
7. Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
8. Ability to work in an ever-changing and fast paced environment
9. A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
10. Excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient care within the multidisciplinary team
11. Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision-making skills
12. A commitment to learning and reflective practice
13. Knowledge of and commitment to the continuous improvement of health care and nursing practice
14. A desire to share your experiences and participate in the future development of the unit
15. Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
16. The ability to participate in on-call rostering
