The role
We're looking for an experienced and energetic leader with at least three years of Aquatic leadership experience to guide our Leisure and Aquatic Services team as the Team Leader – Leisure & Aquatic Operations
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our new state‑of‑the‑art Leisure and Aquatic Facility. Your responsibilities will include implementing and maintaining robust operational procedures, overseeing water quality and plant systems, and managing budgets and resources with diligence and foresight. You will also lead and develop a cohesive, proactive team dedicated to community wellbeing, safety, and exceptional service delivery.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
* Lead the day‑to‑day operations of Council's Leisure and Aquatic Centre, ensuring all activities align with organisational policies, procedures and service standards.
* Provide effective supervision, coaching and development for Site Supervisors, Lifeguards and Customer Service Officers to foster a high‑performing, customer‑focused team.
* Work closely with the Leisure and Aquatics Training and Compliance Coordinator to maintain compliance with supervision plans, risk assessments, industry regulations and safety requirements.
* Apply strong financial knowledge to support budget management, promote programs and services, and contribute to positive customer experiences.
* Oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of plant rooms, water quality systems and essential equipment.
* Champion high standards of cleanliness, safety and continuous improvement across all facilities.
* Assist with emergency management procedures and provide first aid support when required.
* Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure the safe and effective delivery of aquatic programs and services.

You will have
* Demonstrated experience managing operations in a leisure or aquatic environment
* Relevant aquatic industry qualifications (e.g., Pool Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid)
* Sound knowledge of NSW Health Regulations and aquatic safety standards
* Proven leadership and staff development skills
* Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management abilities
* Experience with plant operations, supervision procedures and compliance
* Understanding of budgeting, promotion, and customer service principles
* A current Class C Driver's Licence
The salary for this opportunity starts at
$93, Grade G, Step 1)
plus
12% super.
