We are a dedicated group of allied health and behaviour support professionals driven by making a lasting impact.About the RoleWe are seeking Occupational Therapists to join our Western Sydney team supporting families across the Blacktown LGA.You will provide person and family-centred intervention and support for children and young people with disabilities or development delay, and their families. You will provide supports flexibly to meet the needs of your clients, including supports to people across Western Sydney at Lifestart sites, in homes, schools and the community and online supports to people Australia wide.This is a permanent position with both full-time and part-time opportunities available (minimum 3 days per week). Lifestart operates Monday to Friday, and it is highly desirable if you are available to work until 6pm.Responsibilities include:Work alongside children, young people and their families to set goals, develop strategies and support their implementationEmpower our clients and families to develop independence in areas such as self-care and everyday routines, sensory processing, play and motor skills, emotional regulation and inclusion in chosen activities and settingsOpportunity to develop specialist areas of interest such as prescription of Assistive Technology and minor Home Modifications, Sensory Processing and Emotional RegulationWork with a varied caseload alongside a team of experienced allied health professionals and behaviour support practitioners including speech pathologists, physiotherapists and behaviour clinicians.Provide support to families through a keyworker model of practice and parent coachingOpportunity to provide support through telehealth, engaging with families online for assessment and intervention.Opportunity to support families though group programs such as Toilet Training workshops, Transition to School and High School and other interest-based groups.About youQualification in Occupational Therapy with current AHPRA registrationMinimum 2+ years’ experienceProfessional experience, or demonstrated commitment to working with children and young peopleExperience and/or interest in using person and family centred, strength-based approachesHighly organised, and able to work with technology in a changing environmentUnderstanding of inclusion, cultural sensitivities and the needs of diverse communitiesAlign with Lifestart’s values and believe you would be a great fitValid Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) Clearance (or willingness to obtain)Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC) Clearance (or willingness to obtain)Fully vaccinated for the Covid-19 Virus (3 doses) or accepted medical exemption certificateCurrent driver’s licence and use of own carWhy Join Lifestart?YOUR FUTURE, EMPOWERED!Working at Lifestart means working for an organisation that has grown from humble beginnings to become one of Australia’s leading disability service providers without compromising the values at its heart.Lifestart was founded in 1996 by a group of eight families who believed kids with disability deserved better support.
