Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Advisor to join our team. As an Environmental Advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring that our operations are environmentally sustainable and compliant with all relevant regulations.

Your Responsibilities

* Engage with the workforce and management team to educate them on environmental requirements;
* Communicate environmental requirements across the entire project;
* Assist in the production of project procedures, policies, and practices in relation to the environment and sustainability efforts;
* Support auditing measures and conduct specific auditing duties;
* Collate findings and report data to senior environmental colleagues;
* Ensure project documentation is kept current and reflects the latest sector-specific regulations, standards, and practices;
* Implement improvement actions to meet requirements, monitor, and continuously assess;
* Facilitate the workforce, management team, and client in examining each stage of the construction process to ensure and improve environmental performance and compliance;
* Identify critical improvements and innovations in the planning and execution stages of construction to ensure total compliance, reducing time delays and conflict regarding environmental management and compliance;
* Prepare weekly and monthly reports for management and the client;
* Report any known non-conformances;
* Advise the project team on environmental risks identified for the project;
* Assist the HSE Manager with incident investigations and draft reports;
* Participate in environmental audits as required by the client and/or regulator;
* Manage immediate responses to environmental incidents (cleanup) and initiate and undertake investigations;
* Assist with HSE processes as required for operational compliance and implementation.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A tertiary qualification in an environmental discipline;
* A science-based degree including biology, chemistry, or physics is desirable;
* A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience;
* Proven experience of carrying out site audits;
* Past monitoring experience in accordance with compliance targets and regulations;
* Previous provision of environmental reports.
