Permanent Full Time (38 hours per week or 40 hours with ADO) Location: Hamilton Base Hospital Total Remuneration Package: $104,000 inclusive of superannuation Benefits of working at WDHS In addition to the Total Remuneration Package, the current Enterprise Bargaining Agreement offers the following entitlements: • Salary packaging of up to $9,010 (living expenses) and $2,650 (meals/ entertainment), boosting take-home pay by approx. $2.78/hr (30% tax bracket), with the $9,010 cap potentially doubled for remote area mortgage interest/rent • Five weeks of annual leave per year • Long service leave accrues at 2 weeks for every 60 weeks of continuous service, double the standard entitlement • Annual salary increments in line with the EBA, including an automatic level increase each year on your employment anniversary date About the Role The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Finance team, responsible for managing revenue accounting processes and ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements. This role focuses on preparing and reviewing revenue related journals and reconciliations, tracking grants, and overseeing statutory lodgements, acquittals, and financial returns. The position also supports the monthly and annual reporting cycles, contributes to budget preparation, and provides financial insights to support operational decision-making. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Senior Accountant supports junior finance staff and provides guidance on accounting processes. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong attention to detail, sound knowledge of accounting principles, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement in a public health setting. You will bring: • Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field • Experience in accounting or financial reporting, preferably within the health or public sector • Well-developed analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data • Strong Excel skills and experience working with financial systems • Proficiency in general ledger maintenance and period-end processes • Sound understanding of accounting standards and legislative requirements • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills • Ability to communicate with staff of all levels Visit Our Careers Page www.wdhs.net/v2/home/careers/ Closing Date: Sunday 10th August 2025 The successful applicant will hold, or be able to obtain, a current National Criminal Police/NDIS Check.
