We are looking for an experienced and passionate hospitality professional with excellent food and wine knowledge to join our team at Archers Torquay as a Wine Bar Supervisor.

About the Role
As Wine Bar Supervisor, you will be an essential part of our team, ensuring smooth day-to-day service and delivering high-quality hospitality. Key responsibilities include:
· Supervising Front-of-House Operations – Supporting the Venue Manager, overseeing daily service, and ensuring a seamless experience for guests.
· Leading by Example – Promoting a positive team culture and mentoring team members through active participation in training and daily management.
· Providing Expert Food & Wine Service – Delivering thoughtful recommendations on wine and food pairings to enhance the guest experience.
· Creating Memorable Guest Experiences – Engaging with both regular and new guests, building strong relationships through excellent service.
· Bar & Floor Service – Mixing cocktails, pouring tap beers, and serving spirits while efficiently running the bar and floor.
· Managing Stock & Ordering – Monitoring stock levels, maintaining menu and wine list quality, and placing orders as needed.
· Ensuring a High Standard of Service – Handling cash transactions, operating the POS system, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
· Food Preparation – When needed, assisting with pizzas, cheese & charcuterie boards and snacks to complement our wine offerings.
· Adhering to Responsible Alcohol Service – Ensuring compliance with RSA guidelines and upholding best practices in responsible alcohol service.
· Collaborating with the Team – Working closely with staff to ensure smooth operations, and staying up to date on new wine offerings and promotions.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
· Experienced – 2+ years in hospitality, preferably in a wine bar or similar fast-paced environment.
· Passionate About Food & Wine – Strong knowledge of wine, ideally with WSET certification or a willingness to learn.
· An Excellent Communicator – Warm, personable, and confident when engaging with guests and colleagues.
· Organised & Detail-Oriented – Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
· Proactive & Hands-On – Able to work efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
· Cocktail-Savvy – Experience in mixing drinks and general bar service.
· RSA Certified – Up to date with Responsible Service of Alcohol requirements.
