In This Role, You Will
o Be familiar with the relevant workpacks, drawings, weld maps and weld procedures for allocated.
o Verify welders, weld equipment, weld consumables, and weld procedures are current and correct for task
o Monitor welding parameters and conduct visual inspections, prior to, during, and post welding
o Conduct visual testing of weld area preparation, welding and on completed welds
o Advise of non-conformances as early as possible
o Complete daily progress reporting as required
o Ensure weld repair procedures are followed as required
o Provide professional advice as required, both written and verbal
o Demonstrate a willingness and capability to perform other duties as deemed appropriate and consistent with your professional qualifications, skill or experience.
o Witness when required weld procedure qualification & welder qualification testing.
To be considered for the role, you will hold the following skills and experience:
o Welding Inspector (WTIA Certified Welding Inspector, WTIA Certified Senior Welding Inspector, CSWIP Level 3.1 Welding Inspector, AWS Certified Welding Inspector, IIW International Welding Inspector – Standard IWI-S)
o Experience with Structural welding AWS D1.1 would help but not essential
o Strong technical skills and experience, preference for experience within offshore oil & gas industry
o Functional use of Microsoft Office applications
o Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
o Positive attitude with a focus on problem solving
o Ability to work harmoniously in close confines
